Which Carl Levin do we get today???

Carl Levin backs the Democrat's policy to "redeploy" or more commonly referred to as "cut and run"...and then in his next breath he advocates "to go into Syria".

Wow...will the real Carl Levin please stand up???

Anuzis on Levin Announcement

Lansing, MI – Democratic U.S. Senator Carl Levin announced today that he will be seeking reelection in 2008.  Michigan Republican Party Chairman Saulius “Saul” Anuzis issued the following statement in response:

“A reelection announcement this early, before most people have closed their books on the last campaign, signals loud and clear to Michigan Republicans that this seat will be in play in 2008.  Senator Levin has typically run his campaigns without politicking until the last possible moment.  This early display of political gamesmanship demonstrates that once again, Michigan will be on the radar screen as a place where Republicans can make real gains.  We will be ready to challenge Senator Levin for that Senate seat.”

A letter from Mike Bouchard

Saul,

Last night I sent the message below to my email list of supporters around the state thanking them for their hard work in a well fought campaign.  I am hoping you will forward my email to your statewide GOP list so I can reach as many activists as possible to thank them for their sacrifices, support and prayers over the past year.

Please also express my sincerest gratitude to the staff of the State Party.  You and your team did a tremendous job supporting my race.  Thank you for your leadership and tireless efforts in a difficult year.  My entire family is grateful to all those who helped.  Their sacrifices will always be remembered.

Mike

Subject: Thank You Michigan For Your Support!

Dear Friends,

I would like to extend my deepest thanks and gratitude to all of my supporters and the more than 1.5 million Michiganders throughout our great state of Michigan that supported my candidacy for the United States Senate.

Bouchard_3 While the outcome is not what we were working so hard to achieve, this journey was extremely rewarding to me and my family.  It was uplifting and humbling as people from all over Michigan put their lives on hold and opened their wallets, homes and hearts.  I will never forget the work of all those contributed to the effort.

My family and I are strengthened knowing that events in life happen for a reason and that even in loss today, we will find victory tomorrow. God always has a plan.

But for now, a sincere thank you to all who worked for me, who voted for me or just took the time to politely listen.

We need people that care about our community, state and nation, and I was honored to meet many of you in this long journey.

Thank you for your warmth and consideration. We will remain deeply humbled and grateful.

Sincerely,

Mike Bouchard

TURNOUT FOR CLINTON, STABENOW RALLY LOWEST IN COUNTRY

Indicative of Low Voter Intensity, Lack of Grassroots Effort in Michigan

Oakland Co, MI – On Saturday, Bill Clinton attended a sparsely attended rally to point fingers at President Bush for Michigan’s single-state recession and called for an increase of taxes on more than 3.5 million Michigan families. Senator Debbie Stabenow and the Governor hosted the event and were responsible for turning out supporters.

Neither Clinton nor Stabenow highlighted the affect that Clinton’s own North American Free Trade Agreement or Stabenow’s efforts to encourage trial lawyers and environmental extremists to sue the Big Three in to submission has had on Michigan’s dire economy.

The Detroit Free Press reported yesterday that barely 300 supporters attended the free event at Wayne State University in Detroit, for a venue which holds 2,000. This is the lowest attended event for the former President and clearly indicates a lack of grassroots effort by Stabenow, the Governor, and the Michigan Democratic Party.

“Senator Stabenow’s strategy to duck-and-cover and sit on her hands until after the Election are a familiar work ethic for a Senator who has passed only one bill in the past decade. If she had this much trouble filling a room for a former President, she’s going to have a really hard time filling the ballot box on Tuesday,” said David All, Bouchard campaign spokesperson. “On the other hand, with one of the strongest get-out-the-vote efforts in the country, Mike Bouchard is working hard to ensure that every voter has heard his message of results for a change.”

Stabenow A Disaster for Michigan

October 31, 2006

Hotline Reports...NRSC goes after Stabenow

October 31, 2006

Is The Best Defense...

A good offense? The NRSC has bought at least $800,000 of TV ad time in MI SEN targeting Dem Sen. Debbie Stabenow. This is one day after the NRSC put in $500K in MD SEN and two days since they tossed another $300K+ in MT SEN. As for the MI SEN buy, sources tell me the buy could be as high as a $1M.

The decision to try and play a little offense in this time when Republicans are defending the lion's share of competitive Senate seats is an interesting gambit. Stabenow has been polling just over 50% in most October polling, but the sour atmosphere in Michigan has Republicans believing if voters want to dump incumbents, it might help Republican Mike Bouchard. It's a long shot, but a $1M in MI SEN might do more damage to Stabenow and Democrats as a whole than spreading out that extra $1M in MO, TN and VA [CHUCK TODD]

1. Mike was on Fox News' Fox & Friends this morning talking about his race and his vision to renew Michigan's economy: http://youtube.com/watch?v=f_FDnzocY3s

2. The Macomb Daily reports that the President's visit to the key battleground county of Macomb on Thursday coupled with a new independent poll showing Bouchard within striking distance (48-42) is helping Bouchard raise money and draw focus on to his race. 3. The Oakland Press, Bouchard's hometown county where he has won 14 elections with wide margins, also reports how the Senate race continues to narrow and notes legislation that a "Senator" Bouchard would work to pass to help curb frivolous lawsuits against our Big Three automakers. Bouchard Dominates Debate Against Stabenow

Bouchard

I had the opportunity to watch the debate between Mike Bouchard and Debbie Stabenow. Bouchard in person and then again on PBS last night….Mike did an awesome job.

Mike was strong, decisive and drew a clear contrast between himself and Debbie Stabenow. Mike nailed her on immigration, taxes and for being an ineffective member of the Senate.

Bouchard held Debbie Stabenow to her record of doing nothing for the people of Michigan since she became senator six years ago. He called out Stabenow for neglecting the issues that affect the people in this state everyday. Bouchard highlighted Stabenow's tax and spend policies and, vote to give amnesty to illegal immigrants, vote against funding additional border guards, vote against funding a fence along the southern border and her vote to kill an amendment that would stop illegal immigrants from stealing Social Security benefits. Stabenow offered the same stale approach and blamed her problems on others.

There is a great contrast between these candidates, and we encourage you to watch the debate. It was on your local PBS station. To find one near you…and to check for a taped version on the internet follow this link:
