MI GOP New Ad on the Granholm Shutdown

The Michigan Republican Party today hit state airwaves with a new 60-second radio spot calling Governor Jennifer Granholm threat of a government shutdown as nothing more than political blackmail aimed at passing the Democrats’ unpopular income tax increase.

The ad, which begin airing across Michigan Friday afternoon, can be heard by linking to Michigan Republican Party’s website at www.MIGOP.org .

Comment from Michigan Republican Party Chairman Saulius “Saul” Anuzis:

“We want the make sure everyone knows Governor Granholm and Democrats are putting Michigan’s jobs and economy at risk by shutting down government just to get a tax increase that the overwhelming majority of state residents oppose. Raising taxes will hurt Michigan’s struggling economy and cost us even more jobs. Threats of a government shutdown are irresponsible. That’s why Republican’s have passed an emergency budget that will keep government open, but the governor won’t sign it.”
