Last night I sent the message below to my email list of supporters around the state thanking them for their hard work in a well fought campaign.  I am hoping you will forward my email to your statewide GOP list so I can reach as many activists as possible to thank them for their sacrifices, support and prayers over the past year.

Please also express my sincerest gratitude to the staff of the State Party.  You and your team did a tremendous job supporting my race.  Thank you for your leadership and tireless efforts in a difficult year.  My entire family is grateful to all those who helped.  Their sacrifices will always be remembered.

Dear Friends,

I would like to extend my deepest thanks and gratitude to all of my supporters and the more than 1.5 million Michiganders throughout our great state of Michigan that supported my candidacy for the United States Senate.

While the outcome is not what we were working so hard to achieve, this journey was extremely rewarding to me and my family.  It was uplifting and humbling as people from all over Michigan put their lives on hold and opened their wallets, homes and hearts.  I will never forget the work of all those contributed to the effort.

My family and I are strengthened knowing that events in life happen for a reason and that even in loss today, we will find victory tomorrow. God always has a plan.

But for now, a sincere thank you to all who worked for me, who voted for me or just took the time to politely listen. 

We need people that care about our community, state and nation, and I was honored to meet many of you in this long journey. 

Thank you for your warmth and consideration. We will remain deeply humbled and grateful.
